About Outward OPC
Outward OPC is a work of the OPC Committee on Home Missions and Church Extension. This website exists to encourage zeal for reaching the lost and to be a tool for the OPC and other reformed churches to be more effective in reaching people outside the church. Note/Disclaimer: Sometimes we refer to resources or quote people who are outside our normal sphere and have views that differ from the OPC’s confessional standards. Quoting a person or book is not an endorsement. It simply means they said something useful for us and we can learn from it. When considering evangelism and outreach, we can learn from outside our circles and practice within our confessional theological convictions.
Content Overview
The quickest intro to our content you can get is to look at “Series & Categories” menu on the right side of the site under the email subscription and Social Media follows.
We have a variety of styles of content. We’ve done about 10-12 podcast episodes a year since 2019. We have some long-form video interviews and some shorter video clips. We have short and long-form written content. Look for those in the Categories under “Format:____”
We have series written by OPC Pastors. Some articles, series, and stories written by the Home Missions team. We have series breaking down books on evangelism into digestible reads. The majority of content is material and interviews from what’s happening in the OPC and curated and created by us for you the audience.
We also have a dedicated page called “Outward Curriculum” if you are looking for something to use in a small group or discussion setting or even if a Sunday School teacher is out sick.
We have a dedicated page called “Outward Preaching” for examples of OPC preaching that is robustly reformed but also connects to outsiders and unbelievers.
