Get Real Series
Get Real by John Leonard is well-liked book on evangelism in Reformed circles and by OPC Home Missions. John Shaw used and recommended it regularly with church planters and others who asked for a good book on evangelism.
Our series takes each chapter and shortens it to a 5-10 minute read to get the main point of the chapter. One of the things people liked about the series was that we created thoughtful discussion questions for each chapter.
You could use our series as is or with the book. Either way the discussion questions will be helpful to a leader.
One note: The author’s style tends to use chapter titles and ideas that sound provocative or even backwards when you first hear them. But he does it for effect and then carefully works you back to understand his point from a Reformed perspective. So, if you scan the book or series be aware of that.

On the Frontlines: Eric Watkins on Postmodernism
Eric Watkins, at the time OPC Pastor in St. Augustine (now in SoCal) was interviewed on Church Planting, but we did a side discussion on Postmodernism in our culture and music—one of Eric’s focus in study.
This would be an engaging resource for thinking about the world we live in and those we desire to evangelize. Younger people might find it particularly interesting, but middle age and older folks as well because Eric talks a lot about music more familiar to those of a certain era.
3 videos that range between 6-8 minutes. Eric does a great job with this and watching would likely create it’s own discussion with a class.
